Referrals & student wallet

Reward students who bring you new people, and let that credit pay their fees.

How it works, end to end

  1. A new student is admitted and you record who referred them
  2. That student pays
  3. StudioPartner asks whether to give the referrer a reward, and how much
  4. The reward lands in the referrer's wallet
  5. Next time the referrer pays a fee, the wallet is offered against it

No codes, no links, no separate campaign to set up. It follows the admission you were doing anyway.

Step 1 — Record the referral at admission

On the new admission form there is a Referral card with a Referred by search. Start typing and pick the existing student who sent them.

Capture it at admission if you can — asking "who told you about us?" while they are standing in front of you is easier than reconstructing it later. But it is not your only chance: the same Referred by picker appears on Complete Admission and on Edit student, and setting it there still triggers the reward prompt once that student pays.

The separate How did they find you? field is different — it records the channel (Referral, Google, Instagram). Choosing "Referral" there does not link the two students. Only the Referred by picker does that.

Step 2 — The reward prompt

When a referred student pays, a prompt appears:

Ananya Verma was referred by Kabir Singh — add a reward?

Enter an amount and confirm, or skip.

Two things worth knowing:

  • It fires once per student, ever. Skip it and it does not come back. Decide in the moment.
  • The amount is yours to choose each time. There is no fixed percentage or default. You might give more for a six-month plan than a drop-in.

Step 3 — The wallet

The reward becomes wallet credit for the referrer.

The wallet also holds overpayment credit — money from a student who paid more than a fee required. Both sit in one balance, because from the student's point of view it is simply "money I have with the studio".

When you record a payment for someone with a balance, you will see ₹X available and can apply it against the fee.

What it is not

It is not cash. Wallet credit pays fees at your studio. There is no withdrawal.

It does not expire on its own. Credit sits there until it is used.

It is not automatic. Nothing is awarded unless you answer the prompt with an amount. Recording who referred whom does not by itself give anyone anything.

Choosing an amount

There is no right answer, but a useful frame: what would you happily pay an outsider to bring you one student who stays six months? A referral reward is usually a fraction of that, and it goes to someone already loyal.

Staying consistent matters more than the number. Students talk, and "she got 500 and I got 200" is a worse conversation than either amount on its own.

Who can do this

Recording a referral needs admission access. Answering the reward prompt needs fees → manage, since it moves money. A teacher with attendance-only access will never see the prompt.
