Cancelling classes
Mark a class as cancelled so a rained-out day does not count against attendance.
Why this matters
If a class does not run and you simply leave the register empty, every student in that batch looks absent. Their attendance percentage drops for something that was never their fault.
Marking the class cancelled excludes that date from the attendance percentage for the batches you pick.
How to do it
Go to Attendance → Mark classes cancelled.
- Pick the date — defaults to today, but you can mark a past or future date
- Tick the batches that did not run — only batches actually scheduled on that date are listed, in time order
- Add a reason — for example, "Heavy rain"
- Save
Batches already marked cancelled show as ticked and greyed out, with the existing reason next to them. No danger of doing it twice.
Cancel only what actually stopped
The list is per batch, not per day, so a morning class that ran and an evening class that did not are handled separately.
Only tick the ones that genuinely did not happen. Marking a class cancelled that actually ran hides a real attendance record.
When to use it
- Weather — the reason box exists for a reason in Delhi
- Public holidays and festival closures
- Teacher unavailable with no substitute
- Power cut, venue problem, anything that shut the room
When not to use it
A student missing a class that ran is an absence, not a cancellation. Mark them Absent in the register instead.
A batch that has permanently stopped should be handled in Batches, not cancelled date by date.
No date is scheduled?
If the page says no batches are scheduled on that date, none of your batches run on that weekday. Check the batch's schedule under Batches.
