Marking attendance
Take attendance in seconds, spot dropout risk, and follow up with absentees on WhatsApp.
The two tabs
Attendance has Mark and History tabs.
Marking attendance
- Open Attendance in the sidebar
- Select a batch from the dropdown (shows style and timing)
- Pick the date — defaults to today; past dates allowed, future dates blocked
- Every student is marked Present by default — you only tap the exceptions
- Each student has three buttons: Present, Late, Absent
- Use Mark All Present / Mark All Absent for one-tap bulk marking
- Click Save Attendance
A live counter at the top shows Present / Absent / Late totals for the session.
Paused students do not appear on the marking sheet. Someone on a known break is not missing class — they are not expected, so they are never auto-marked absent. Archived students are excluded too.
A class that did not run is not a room full of absences. If the class was cancelled, mark it as cancelled instead so the date is excluded from everyone's attendance percentage. See Cancelling classes.
Built-in dropout signals
While marking, each student shows their last-30-day attendance percentage (green 75%+, yellow 50–74%, red below 50%). If someone has missed 3 or more classes in a row, a red "Missed N in a row" warning appears — your earliest signal that a student is silently dropping out.
Message absentees after saving
Right after you save, a Message absentees panel appears listing everyone marked absent. One tap per student opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled follow-up message (uses your Absent follow-up template from Settings → WhatsApp templates).
History tab
See every past session by batch and date. Tap any session to reopen it in Mark mode and correct it.
